The 01M is a 4-speed automatic family, not one universal ratio sheet. Use the presets for screening, then confirm the stamped transmission code before ordering parts, swapping units, or matching a TCM.
Public references commonly show 3.700, 4.222, 4.267, and 4.875 final-drive families. The same engine label can still vary by market, model year, and code, so ratio math must be treated as a validation step rather than a direct interchange approval.
The calculator assumes a locked converter and measured tire diameter. During non-locked phases, heat, slip, load, and tire growth can make the observed road speed differ from the table.
In a conventional automatic transmission like the 01M, planetary gearsets provide the forward gear ratios. The ratio represents the mechanical multiplication of the input shaft speed before it reaches the final drive.
Because the engine is coupled to the transmission via a fluid coupling (the torque converter), the input speed to the gearbox is not always equal to the engine RPM until the lock-up clutch is fully engaged (typically in higher gears).

Bore wear in the aluminum casting leads to pressure leaks, presenting as TCC shudder, flared shifts, and solenoid codes like P0740/P0741. Proper diagnosis requires vacuum testing.
